So not much to tell except that its an old Murray rear engine lawn mower. I mowed with it until the deck fell apart and just drove it around for a couple of years thereafter. Recently I climbed under neath and yanked the giant pully off the transmission and replaced it with a much smaller one. Doing this garnered me 10.5 mph which is plenty fast under current conditions. The brakes don't work well as they weren't designed to slow down from that speed. The extra equipment to carry the deck and turn the blades on etc have been removed to lighten it up. Its got the heavy duty 10hp Techumseh.
I haven't found another like it on the web as this one has the seperate transmission with a chain to a differential axle. Most of these came with a transaxle.
I figure I'll just take it apart, clean it up and spray paint it to stop the rust and drive it as is until the weak/loose steering gives up or the bushings on the axle gives out. Then I'd like to replace the drive system with a clutch and set up the steering better, and throw a disc brake on the axle.
I can't see spending money on it until something breaks lol.
