So not much to tell except that its an old Murray rear engine lawn mower. I mowed with it until the deck fell apart and just drove it around for a couple of years thereafter. Recently I climbed under neath and yanked the giant pully off the transmission and replaced it with a much smaller one. Doing this garnered me 10.5 mph which is plenty fast under current conditions. The brakes don't work well as they weren't designed to slow down from that speed. The extra equipment to carry the deck and turn the blades on etc have been removed to lighten it up. Its got the heavy duty 10hp Techumseh.

I haven't found another like it on the web as this one has the seperate transmission with a chain to a differential axle. Most of these came with a transaxle.

I figure I'll just take it apart, clean it up and spray paint it to stop the rust and drive it as is until the weak/loose steering gives up or the bushings on the axle gives out. Then I'd like to replace the drive system with a clutch and set up the steering better, and throw a disc brake on the axle.

I can't see spending money on it until something breaks lol.

That thing wouldnt make it through the ditch in my front yard that I have to mow.
It looks like I'd have to wear a helmet when mowing since motorcycle helmets are still mandatory here I think.
The urge to defend my turf when the neighbors are mowing their yard may get me into a rumble.
or the stupid look on my face after another motorcycle rides by and I try to ride with them at 3 MPH.
If I wanted to show something like that would I take it to the tractor show or the motorcycle show ?

yeah it looks cool but not practical I'd rather see a dual engine, dual mower deck acticulating in the middle steering lawn tractor.

Anyway Wimperdink that is a nice little tractor and if you dont need it to pull stuff around the yard then you could just turn into a tractor ATV.

lol the bike is cool looking but I can't see too much use of it. I'd have to have acres to mow because I suspect the turning radius wouldn't be too hot. Along that line though I have considered a set of ape hangers and a bike seat on this thing. It would be easier to bail off should I find myself tipping over on the side of a hill.

As for towing things around the yard your right. I can drop it back down into a low gear and still have enough power for pulling stuff like maybe my kids in some of these.... (also low gear is better for visiting kids riding)

If you make the tractor choo-choo you'll be a hit around there.

I showed my neighbor those pictures before he told me "dont you dare show those to my grandchildren" because he knows they wont stop bugging him for them until he makes them or their to big for them.

lol... this is a longer term goal as the cart/mower is stripped down in the garage for paint and fixing minor things...

You could always take the deck off right?

Those are cool too but a lot more work. I'm a lil lazy. I was thinking more along the lines of the pic I posted but with lil windshields on each one to mimic a motorcycle side car. Ape hangers and a motorcycle saddle on the lawn mower would be fitting.
