will a 7 to 12 hp engine work with the Azusa kart. Will it mount normally like a Honda 6.5 clone. I'm asking because I think I might be to heavy for the 6.5. 275 pounds too much for it let me know if I even need no put a more powerful engine in thanks.

You can easily squeeze a little more out of a predator if you feel it isn't enough after installation with some small things like, jetting/intake/exhaust/valves. Those things won't cost much and could put it up similar to those engines you'd be considering. However I will note that these newer engines like a predator that says 6.5 now really is more like an older 8hp 5 years ago.

i built one of those a while back and had a lot of fun with it with a 6.5hp engine! later i decided i wanted to put 16" tires on it so i installed a 30 series tc on it. was a fun little kart and would easily move 250 lbs! here is a quick clip of it it in action

later, i built another one but stretched the frame 10" so adults could ride it easier. it had smaller tires and a 8 hp engine with a 30 series tc also

Looks a lot better than I expected!

How is it without a torque converter stock with a 6.5 lifan.
I already ordered the lifan on amazon this morning.
