Why, I ask... WHY, do they not make a decent set of cool looking aftermarket headlights for the 01 to 04 Tacoma?

There's aftermarket crap for all the others, but not these years. Sure, there's a few, but they're all pretty generic and just plain ugly.

I may have to just make some myself I tell ya.

Is it that they starting to fog up, or that you just plain hate them period? If it's because they're fogging up, 3M make's a great DYI kit to polish the hazy film off; the only caveat is that you need to follow the instructions to the letter. If it's only the styling, then thing's get dicey, since the OEM designed the backside of the pod's and the mounting structure as a matched set. And the rear of the pod's are where it's got to flat out work.

searching on ebay for 03 tacoma headlights.. I found a lot of (ever so slightly) different
headlights, at least 90% of which are aftermarket... decent *shrugs*
a question f definition I guess.

I have a '06 scion xb. I had people flashing their high beams at me all the time even though I had mine on low beam. The headlights are adjusted right too (had it checked)
After a couple of years of that going on, I bought some vinyl self-stick carbon fiber sheet and made my own head light trim...basically covered the top 1'' of headlight and gave it a slight angle so the lights look angry. Made the car look a tad cooler and made it so people no longer flash their high beams at me!

while I wouldn't mind having a newer yota....they got nothing on the 80's models. this was my $600 yota 4wd I drove for just over a year. It needed tons of work, but nothing that kept it from being reliable.

It just my personal taste...but I wish trucks like that would be offered today. No thrills, pure utility, rugged and reliable, don't care if the paint gets scratched. Even some of the most stripped down trucks offered today are luxury compared to my old yota.

two different cars.. very different, the Tacoma is a the M-Class mercedes for the G-Class HiLux, if you know what I mean

yep, both pics are from the movie.

My '86 yota I drove with antique plates for a year because I couldn't afford a road legal truck and the yota wouldn't pass inspection. I did have it inspected to see what it would need.
4 tires (dry rot)
shocks front and rear
hole in frame patched (fist sized)
holes in front fenders
75% of the exhaust system
valve cover gasket
rear brakes lines, maybe new drums

Might have been one or 2 other small things. I drove it to work, on the highway (surprisingly smooth and straight at 65mph) and took it offroading. Never broke a thing, never broke down, never failed to start. Trucks half its age with half the millage often don't hold up as well. But the simpler you build a truck the better it will hold up and the easier it will be to repair. I loved having to shift into 3rd gear by the time I got out of the intersection...lol.

I didn't have the time/tools to do the repairs. So I just drove it until I could afford a road legal truck. But the guy I sold it to did all the work himself and then sent me a pic...as if I didn't already regret selling it!

If you're looking for something on the excitement meter, my 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1/2 ton work truck might put you into an early grave due to boredom because it only came with four options.

Cloth seats, 4WD, heavy duty cooling system, and the G-80 factory locking rear differential.

Standard was tilt/cruse, AC, six speed HD automatic transmission (since the 4.3L V6 power output almost equals my Dad's 2010 5.3 equipped V8 truck with the factory towing package).

Bling? What is that term, any ways????

More than comfortable seats, excellent ventilation system (heat and AC), and a sound system that would have been world class way less than 10 years ago. All rapped in a delivery service rapper for those who don't know....
