Why would a 40 series do this?

Hi. Too late for pics but you can see my setup in the contest forum. The supplier says the driven can be mount either way. Centerline is about 1/16 off for now. Any rate, it slips. Sometimes the belt on the driven goes all the way to the center of the pulley and gets stuck, binds up and wont let the pulley close at idle and you have to yank the belt out.

This thing worked once, it was awesome lol! But then it went right back. Lots of slippage, no power to go uphill, etc. I realize the 1/16th off needs adjusted but im pretty sure its not my main problem. Ideas?

So do I but would be nice to know what im doing wrong. Found a guy on cl that works on them might have him look at it I dont know anyone personally that messes with this stuff.

You said it was "too late for pics". Not sure what the heck that means, but it's never too late. Too dark? Use some good lighting and snap away. Otherwise you've forcing us to imagine it.

40 series right? Flip the Driven pulley. Hope there is room to mount the spring inboard.
