Seconded. An oldie but goodie 'Murican-made Carter Brothers go kart (made in Alabammy).

Looks like "Bubba" did some modifying. Changed the steering wheel position to the middle (it's a 2-seater kart) and at a radical vertical angle looks like, but didn't change the pedal locations to fit. He musta been a fatäśś.... That big spoked belt pulley looks non-standard too. $100 is not too bad for a roller with 4 good-ish looking tires. Here's one of the Carter heaps I reconditioned. Getting the rusted split rims apart to replace the tubes and tires was pretty enjoyable.

You're WRONG! Look again closely at his pics. That's not what he has, he has a square solid axle not the hollow tube with the bearings on the ends (which I'll add is super genius and safe for long hair, fingers etc).

You are correct sir. That is definitely a "one wheel peel" machine. I should have said "some models" shipped with a live axle. Thanks for clarifying.

So far I have been unable to pull the pulley off. The jack shaft was seized up. Got it to move but not freely. Looks like I may have to replace it.

Another "modification" was a welded on nut for the drive wheel bolt to be threaded into.

The parts list I linked in post #5 appears to have a solid, non variable pulley on the driven part of the assembly (part 68), according to the part description: Part #68 "G566 Pulley B5 3/4" w/ 3/4" Bore".

Part #62 is "G704 Centrifugal Belt Clutch" and can be found by on a web search by part number. I thought this was just a Series 20 torque converter/CVT but it appears not. Can anyone explain this?
