everyone, ages young to old, as in anyone that can validly walk, you can find at the skate rink, half the time, packed full and the streets empty

Roller skating or roller blading? Roller skating went out the window here in the 80's. Rollerblading is still popular, but we don't have any rinks. You have just gotta make do with pavements etc...

I grew up on skates and worked at many rinks as a skate guard. Now I am a ..... get ready..... womens flat track roller derby referee! It's a blast and I get to watch chicks beat each other up and toss them off of the track for breaking the rules! Quad skates only... No ***** roller blades.
As a kid, roller rinks were the greatest place to meet the girls! Oh.... The good old days.....

Definitely not that way anymore, at least not around here.
Must be a VERY small town.
EDIT- Or a freaking MASSIVE arena!
Maybe Canadians aren't all that bad.
