I have a 10" kids scooter which is a pretty odd size because i can't find where to get spare tires...
but i was wondering would it be worth it to put a 26cc whipper snipper on it i know it might not push me very fast but i have a nephew who i am sure would love to ride it. so yeah just wondering if its worth putting it together and if it will go fast enough to be fun?

thanks :)

I found an abandoned scooter last year that was quite similar to your description. I have no idea how well it worked. I tore the engine down and got it running again with a spare coil, but have been too busy with other things to reassemble the scooter. For the record, it used a friction drive system with no clutch. Just a spindle, maybe 1 1/4" that rode directly on the rear tire. As you can imagine, the tire tread was history...

Give it a go, never a bad thing to try- just don't expect a beast.

Only obstical you will have will be the shaft, they are designed for a square style "slot in" shaft, I tried something like this ages ago with a 26cc, tried everything to fit the slot and nothing worked. Yea if it all works out, it will be plenty fast, just alot of strain on the engine if there is a older user on it. Also as Toystoty mentioned friction drive is the way to go, just causes trouble with lack of grip in the wet.

I had an old electric scooter come into my reach. I took off the body work and electrical gubbings, and put on a 1.5 hp 2 stroke water pump engine.

That little engine was insane, so much torque, such a great noise.

We got to the point of (literally) ordering a clutch and going, everything was set. Throttle, brakes, custom exhaust, the whole jackshaft setup. Then it got stolen. :(

So however successful or not this might turn out to be I'd love to see one made in a similar way, like a minimoto clutch, small engine, pure fun.

Ah this is kind of off topic, my apologies.

The good news is that if the thief drives by on your bike you'll hear him.
