How about water based paintball guns. at least you’ll know if it’s the same kitty.

Paintball guns can/will cause serious injury to smaller animals like a cat. They will be injurious to any animal when hit in a vulnerable spot like eyes/ears/etc. Not recommended.

Do you have sprinklers? A remote controller for sprinklers might work.

A water fire extinguisher would probably work too. They're not as cheap as a squirt gun, but they are rechargeable and useful for fires too. I have one.

Ultimately though, I don't think cats are going to learn to stay out of your yard. You'll just get the satisfaction of hosing 'em down.

a garden sprayer?

some have an interchangeable nozzle (and thus you can make a pretty nice jet)
and even with a safety valve you can get a pretty sharp stream of water...
20ft should very well be doable, aim is on you though ;)

I'd say because they're cheap and readily available in nearly every other store...
just see what you can find and give it a shot (hehe)

PS original super soakers are still on ebay ... sooooo if that's more to your liking, go for it :D
