The powerease is 189$ CAN
And the Kohler is 299$ CAN

I am kinda not sure about the quality of the powerease. I could not find any material about it online no youtube videos... Nothing. While the Kohler seems like it is better quality and... well I dont know I am asking you guys because I do not know what to think. On the otherhand the powerease has 7hp while the Kohler has 6.5hp. What do you think?

Its home depots engines similar to what HF would sell

I might be mistaking.. BUT by the LOOK of the powerease it very much looks like a RATO R210 engine (mainly because of the odd shaped vent)

And RATO is best known not too far south from you for the HF predator.

that's (to my best knowledge) is the Rato that's sold with a different shroud as a predator:
Sell_EPA_CARB_CE_Horizontal.jpg

well it's the R200 wich looks exactly like the r210.

R210-III though has this shroud:

(looks familiar to most of the users here I assume ;))

still the same engine, just a different shroud.

See what I mean?

Ok in that case this is what I understand. The BE powerease is basically a RATO with a different case. Right? Well then what would you pick the "RATO" or the powerease?

The all famous and loved predators ARE RATO engines...

so if you want to have the option of modifications get the Rato..
if it's way more expensive than visiting the US and buying a predator from HF, don't.
(do that instead)

[EDIT]
found the pic of proof on my HDD.. a local user posted that pic from his PREDATOR a while ago ;)
cannot find the original thread I'm afraid

IF it is.. NONE technically.. (cosmetics are obvious I assume ;))

If it's not, then I have absolutely NO IDEA, basically everything is possible...
from "perfectly identical engines" over "different EPA settings" up to "carboard vs flightgrade Aluminium"

*shrugs*

Depends I'm afraid...

before I'd pay 250 for the Rato
I'd pay 170 (incl shipping and tax) for a predator at ebay
since it's a relabelled Rato anyways.

but only if I have the time to wait for it to arrive.
and would like to take the governor out etc.

if you want to keep it stock, you could as well buy the powerease to have someone to talk to in case you need to make use of the warranty.
(you'd void the warranty the second you open the crankcase anyways.. so who cares otherwise)
