where to start......

So here soon I'll be starting on my first go-kart. I already have an engine, which is a predator 346cc. Where should I began? I've kind of tossed around the idea of racing possible. I believe the the frames used for racing are called sprinters? I was thinking my best bet would be to buy a frame that is only missing an engine. And use that that to learn from. My main questions would be what frame would be best for this engine? And am I on the right track? Any suggestions and good articles for information would be much appreciated!

Congrats on making a kart. There are two types of racing kart frames, Sprint (Sprint and/or Shifter) and Offset (Oval karts). The frame that you are probably looking for is a sprint kart, and you can probably find one on Craigslist by searching "kart" in the search bar. Btw, are you planning to race on dirt or asphalt? And where are you located, I may be able to help you find your chassis.

Located in Southern Indiana I would like to race but before I do I want to make sure I can build and work on them. When it is completed I will probably run it around neighborhood a little bit.
