Hey guys,

just a couple of questions for all. Ill be starting my first projest soon, but i'd like to get some input on plans, engines and clutch setup. Ive looked at several plans and designs and cant really make up my mind. I defininetly want a full suspension cart, ive looked at the arachnid, the S II buggy from ubuildit and a couple from edge out of australia. I would prefer an industrial engine setup, but i want it to rip. So i would appreciate all the help i can get. :cheers2:

Welcome to the forum!

I don't know much about those plans (there are guys here that do, give 'em time), but I do think that buggies like that pretty much demand a bike engine. Nothing else is going to perform like that.

yep all but the acranid need bnike engines to go fast

some people have tryed the arachnid and it has gained the name ar-crap-nid becaus ethe plans are wrought with flaurs

i have never heard of ubuildit but the size of there buggys determines they need big power to go fast

the edge buggies is where i have the most knowledge (im building one, so are two others) and happen to live close to the edge products workshop

the sidewinder requires between 350 and 500cc dirtbike engine
the piranha (mine and rustys) requires between 500 and 1000cc
and the barracuda requires 1000cc up

the tiapan is the one u may want
it can run with a 13hp industial engine with a TC but most people fit a 250 bike enge to it

why do u want an industrial engine, the only advantage u get is easy install

a bike engine has much better power to capacity and power to wieght and gears to get better use of that extra power

I second what Fowler said, I too looked at different plans and decided that the Edge Piranha is the way to go. I'm thankful that I have a lot of resources to make this build possible, so if you want I can help you out with what my uncle drew up for me looks just like the Piranha, may not be the same:)

u are looking at between 2 to 10 grand to get one of these to go

I would deffinatly appreciate those plans. I haven't decided on which kart to build, really like the piranha, so if this is designed like that i'll be building it. Also, i've got a line on some bike and atv engines. Will be going with one of these for the power to get the most out of the kart. Thanks again and look forward to those plans. :wai:
