I used to go up there to the GM tech center on Ogden Ave all the time when I worked for Buick. If I remember right it’s pretty built up around the area. Do you know anyone who has a farm, property. Is there a lightly used forest preserve you might get away with it in? I’m not that familiar with the area anymore. I bought a 70 GTX from a Mike Kliss up in that area years ago.
Welcome to the forum, Granddad. I don't think you have desert in your part of the country, but that is where I take my grandkids. Where we go, it is a designated off road vehicle park. You probably have something similar in your part of the country. Even residential streets are dangerous. I finally broke down and bought a couple of trailers. It's a 2 hour drive each way, but the safety and the freedom to turn them loose is worth it.
There was a Gokart racing track west on I 80 right next to Warshawski's years back. I forget how to get there now. It been 30 years almost since the last time I was there.
What kind of go kart you have? Just the driving part ...on pavement, packed dirt, gravel is what really floats my boat.
The answer is conceivably anywhere. This looks interesting. See what you can do there or if anyone complains or calls the police...
I'm actually serious. Use satellite view on Google Maps to scout around for trails or open fields or abandoned mall parking lots. If you're worried about permission, ask for permission. If someone asks you to leave, then apologize and leave.
