Sadly, wheels are often one of the most expensive part of a go kart, besides the engine :/ :(
You can use hardware store wheels, which will break in 5-30 minutes, or you can order real go kart wheels. That's about it.

I love gopowersports's offroad wheels for one go kart I just finished. Here is a set of two: http://www.gopowersports.com/tire-and-wheel-assembly-go-kart-atv-145-70-6-set-of-2/
They also sell a drive wheel for a single wheel drive kart or a set of live axle wheels with tires on them.

Good luck!

I see used RZR/UTV type wheels and tires regularly for around 100.

But get creative, maybe buy a whole vehicle for the wheels, maybe look outside the box. IDK what your idea of cheap is either, so that would help lol.

I see tons of used golf cart wheels (with tires mounted) scattered around Craigslist, for cheap. Gotta figure everywhere you can find a decent golf course, there'll be tons of wheels they just unbolt and discard because the wheel starts to look ratty.

That double negative you just wrote says Virginians can drive and golf, so I'm not sure what you were trying to say there.

Hmmmf.

Yes, they would work and would be a better second choice compared to bona fide go kart wheels. Just don't buy the Harbor Freight bargain wheel/tire assemblies. They are strictly for dolly or hand cart usage and are not speed rated any means. They have a habit of disintegrating in short order.

Do you have a Tractor Supply near by? They have ATV and lawn tractor/garden tractor tires for sale. Looking for like a Carlisle turf saver the or something more aggressive for off road? Just looking for the tire or a wheel combo? If it's a combo, keep in mind the hub size on the those are only up to 3/4" in diameter.

What size tire are you wanting to run? My Yerf has 18" rear tires on an 8" wheel. I have a couple of riding mowers that actually run a 20" tire on 8" wheels. If it will work with your axle you can get pre-mounted tire and wheels at Lowe's with an 18-8.50-8 tire for around 60 bucks. That is a turf saver tire. You can do the old mud bogged trick and use a source of heat and a chisel and cut down every other tread block and have a decently aggressive tire...or look at the Kenda Scorpion tire...it is made in a variety of sizes for lawn mowers, atvs, etc and has good reviews and is reasonably priced.

If you mean tires look on ebay or craigslist a lot of people say "wheels" when they mean tires . I have gotten 1 15/6/6 tire on ebay for about 30 shipped 4 ply usually the smaller the tire the cheaper it is
