Lockup speed for a clutch is the rpm at which it stops slipping, generally somewhere around 2000rpm i believe. Below this speed the clutch will slip in the drum and heat up causing wear. Basically you want your gearing to be setup so that when your driving around at the slow end of your driving speed, it is fully engaged.

So if i use the 8" glass filled nylon wheels what size sprockets will i have to use. Also the only glass filled nylon wheels i have been able to find need to have a 30mm axle diameter which i have been having trouble to find not to mension sprocket hubs ect.

Just about any plastic should do, but glass filled nylon would last longer than most. Kevlar filled nylon should also work well, as well as glass filled acetal.

You're basically looking for maximum abrasion resistance and tensile strength so they last as long as possible, with a medium hardness plastic (soft enough that you can accelerate still, hard enough that you can drift easily), and still have decent impact resistance. Filled composites lend themselves well to it.

all of the wheels i have been looking at have had bearing which means i cant cut a key way or dont have bearing but need a 30mm axle which is hard to find unless you want to spent like $100 bucks on a racing kart one

I have a 30mm axle sitting in my garage waiting for me to upgrade my kart one day....need to finish it before i upgrade lol, my point is. I think they use 30mm axles on the hire karts you drive at karting centres. Pretty sure thats where mine started its life, my school has heaps of them floating around that were donated by a kart centre I think. Might be worth asking around at places like that to see if they have any old damaged ones or something. You might be able to shorten it and use it.

You can try using used airplane tires. The piper Navajo uses this size of tire. I used one on my mini chopper. The tires come off the plane when the thread is worn, but there are 10 plies of belting, and alot of wear left. Check at local airports where you can get them for free!

It looks like most of the used airplane tyres over here get snapped up for recycling, but, CRN13, if you do look into them, and I agree with Crimsonskies.....YOU SHOULD haha. Tell me if you are able to get some.....I might look into it one day too cause it sounds awesome
