l cant tell if its a needle bearing or a splined socket thingy.

Yeah, a little more of an explanation would go a long way in trying to help.

Its a splined bore sprocket.

Maybe Weasler has one. They do the hub/sprocket mix-match thing... I know they have splined hubs.

I've seen similar sprockets, but smaller, inside old Tecumseh 4 speed mower transmissions.
