I bought this go kart from craigslist and the rear axle is bent. I've been looking all over for live axles but the largest size is 44". The size I need is 50" overall length, 47" shoulder to shoulder, 1" dia., with a 1/4" key, and 1 1/2" threads. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Woops actually that website's pictures don't work, and I do have a few pics, I'll go scavenge them up.

It works. Thats hardly a go kart, more of a dune buggy. Polaris probably has replacement parts that you can order.

These aren't mine (Though I wish it was!), but if you need a better picture of the rear axle I have a pic with a good rear view

I cannot find any information ANYWHERE about these things, that website was the only one, other than that it basically doesn't exist. Even though it is a buggy I absolutely need an axle for it, it is so bad the wheel does the wave when I drive it.

heres a better rear end pic

Find your nearest dealer here: http://www.polarisindustries.com/en-us/Vehicles/FindADealer/Pages/FindDealer.aspx

Call them, see what they have to say.

My local dealership made me fill out an online form and they haven't gotten back to me yet, plus I saw the prices for new quad rear axles and that was out of the question, and sorry if I look like I'm spamming but I thought I would get a quick answer plus it would be a lot cheaper and somewhat simpler to order "go kart axles".

Ive had 2 axles made by my local machinist for me. Mine was only 40 long but im sure they could make it as long as you wanted. he put the keyway in, did some machining on the hubs, and put in some set screws on the hubs for 35 dollars.... maybe you have something in your area..

does the axle need to step down at the end? or just change to threads? since you would get a custom size BMI might be able to make shoulders on the shaft. select custom size, e-mail BMI with any questions.

I contacted them today, they said if I ordered one I could have it in any dimensions I wanted they said I just needed to put the information in the comment section. :bannana:
