Well the build off is like 6 or 8 months. It just starts In April, So you could be a late entry with your Summer Project.;)

I am curious to know what kind of rules or guidelines these build-offs have. Is it just a new kart build that people vote on to determine which one they like best that were built within a certain timeline or are there additional limits and guidelines?

I read last year's announcement and got an idea of how things go. I guess it would have been a good idea to do that first. Oh well, I'm saving all of my good ideas for the build contest! haha

I have two projects already going and another one I haven't started yet. Since I'm planning on working on and completing them in the same timeline I will have to get an opinion whether they are eligible to enter in to the competition. Since the build will be starting soon I would like to know what the procedure is to have the projects judged to be eligible entries or not. I know I will need to provide current pictures and what I plan to do but if someone could give me an idea of who to contact or where to post current progress it would be greatly appreciated.

If you read last years guidelines, It is all pretty much there. Projects must not be more than 50% complete, to be determined by Moderator upon your entry.
Projects are judged by members and there is a 2 week open voting window at the end.
Patience.
This years build particulars and rules will be released soon. Like this week, Traditionally.

Just dropped the announcement in time for Tax Day! April 18.

Let's get to doing something more fun, like building!

Changes this year involve that if you previously entered but didn't finish, you can finish up. You'll still need to post pics detailing where you are / were in the process. It's a "gray area"!

And, if you're already been building in 2016, post some pics of the progress. We're going to allow some gray area this year, but I want to see GOOD, solid build logs!

Now I can finally do something besides talk smack :stir: and regurgitate the same dribble about Harbor Freight tires and how to divide 72/12 to get to 6:1.:sifone:
Waiting on a special delivery to take my parts pile Pic. :smartass:

If the build is as good as your smack talk, then you might not finish dead last :D:D. Close....but not dead last:2guns:

I am just amazed of the lack of participants in this years build off. Is the desire to build something with your own two hands and competing with a few other builders in fun dying out? What gives? It does not matter who wins but we all lose if no one else but one man enters and competes against no one else, maybe it is time to move on to something else.

Yeah....wished I could....but budget restraints are my biggest stumbling block....

Not that I have a lot of free time either...but no....not this year....(unless something changes quickly).... Meanwhile....I have to go now....(Campaign fund raiser dinner for the 'Poboy for President' fund raising dinner.....All you can eat BBQ and foot massage for $5.95!) .....(I'm a busy man.....)
