Afternoon all, my question is, has anyone come across a wheel hub convertor to convertor your standard go kart 3 stud into a 4 stud ATV stud pattern?

I am currently building a kart but want to use an existing kart frame and hard ware but want to put 10" ATV wheels on it. have seen a 1" or 25mm unit but was chasing something to go on a 40mm axle shaft.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated all the way from Oz.

Cheers

No adaptor that I am aware of. You'll likely have to do a bit of fab work. You may be able to redrill the kart hubs to fit the ATV wheels, or redrill the ATV wheels to fit the kart hubs. You could possibly get a 1" hub to fit your axle and cut a circular steel plate and drill in the ATV pattern and weld together. If you have the budget, maybe a trip to a machine shop.

It's a lot easier with standard sizes. For example, locally I can buy weld-on hubs to fit any standard sized axle shaft (1", 1 1 1/4" etc). I would then purchase a "drive plate', which is simply a round steel plate with a bore to fit the weld-on hub, and a common 4-on-4 stud pattern. Drive in the wheel studs and you're good to go. Then, you'd get a pair of, say, 22x11-8 ATV tires and mount on 8x7 trailer rims with the 4-on-4 pattern and you're done.

Ah, another Aussie; welcome to the forum.

Throw up some pics of what you have & we'll see what we can do with what you have

Cheers boys, I have managed to find these little nuggets.
http://www.minichopperssocal.com/HUB-ADAPTER.html

Might give them a run and see how we go. Going to whack some 10"x8" rims on my beastie.
This is the frame and engine so far, just have to do some modifications to accommodate the motor but all in all progressing nicely.

You might not need those BMI adaptors, racekart rims with the 3-bolt metric bolt pattern are very common here in the states.

Before ordering anything, I'd just email that minichopper site and ask if those Barstool hub adaptors are made to fit metric wheel hubs with a 50mm 3-bolt circle pattern, or the American style that have 2.125 inch bolt circle pattern.
