I just took delivery of some new Douglas alum wheels, 6061 blue label series wheels, US pattern. Got them from BMI. These dont fit my existing hubs. The cart is a mid 80's Coyote Bullet with a 1 1/4 axle. Im not at home to measure but I believe the hubs have a 3" bolt spacing. These new Douglas rims appear to be smaller in both bolt spacing and smaller in the hub opening(1.50") and dont fit my older hubs. Are these hubs obsolete or can I get wheels that would fit them? Should I keep the wheels and buy new hubs?

One of my buddy's had an 80's era Coyote kart with an obscure/discontinued 3-bolt pattern like that, it wasn't the American, Metric or CRG front bolt pattern.

If your bolt pattern is different than any of the 3 listed in the chart I've posted below, I would suggest buying new hubs to fit the American bolt pattern rims you already have.

PS: Before ordering American/(US) hubs, measure the stud-hole diameter of your new rims, and then conform the studs in the hubs you buy match them (some american bolt pattern rims are drilled for 1/4"-diameter studs, and some are 5/16"...)

Some American wheel hubs have 2 different sets of threaded holes so you can install your choice of 1/4" or 5/16" diameter studs, that's a really cool option to have so any American bolt pattern rims would fit

Thanks Ander. I believe what you explained is the case here. The bolts are spaced 2.75" apart on these hubs. I just bought new hubs to go along with these Douglas wheels. BMI said the new hubs and the Douglas rims will be a perfect fit.
This project was suppose to be just a bearing replace that turned into a complete rebuild.

Thanks for your help guys. I ended up just purchasing all new hubs, wheels, axles and hardware. Everything is like new again. The 80's stuff wasnt compatible with the newer equip.
