Well, you gotta include Star Trek. Now, I was a kid when the original came out. So many far out ideas, that just couldn't happen. Talking to computers???? Are you kidding me? The meal replicator. A meal in minutes??? Gimme a break. Well, sure, we still have to stick in the microwave, but there were no microwaves back then. It took a long time just to heat up a TV dinner.

So, Gene Roddenberry was in fact, a visionary in many respects.

Yeah, no way to choose one. You reminded me of an old favorite movie: "Cowboy ".

Another movie I've watched 100 times and could watch 100 more: 'On Golden Pond.' Some more: 'Quigley Down Under , 'Tombstone ' ,and it's illegal not to watch 'It's a Wonderful Life' every Christmas. 'Southern Comfort '.

TV shows: 'Maverick ', 'MASH, and Cheers right now, I'm liking 'Two Broke Girls ' and 'Mike and Molly'.

hands down- Jeremiah Johnson

BUT it wouldn't kill me to to watch the Lego Movie over and over and over again

"I can be dark and brooding too....you guuuyyyyys look! a rainbow!"

"You were right about him being a ding dong babe"

"Why are my pants cold, and wet?!"

"Sneakin around the corner"

"What was I just thinking about?- I don't care"

"I aint never seen em, but my common sense tells me the Andes is foothills, and the Alps is for children to climb"

"It weren't the Mormons"

difficult to answer

one of the best movies I've seen was "usual suspects".. unfortunately.. nothing you can watch twice and enjoy it :(

Soooo there goes that;
movies I've seen the most often (apart from the original star wars trilogy ;))
Blues Brothers and From Dusk Till Dawn..
the latter ran for over a year every friday night at eleven for a buck in the cinema near
a club we used to go ... so that was our "weekend starts NOW" ritual for said year...
Seen it at least 40 times (and while it's fun it's most likely NOT my favourite movie)
Took me waaaay longer to see Blues Brothers that often..LOL
Love that movie

closely followed by Ghostbusters (first and second) love it enjoy every rerun on tv...

But frankly favourite movie... I don't think I have one really
I enjoy many and hate most :D
Movies I enjoyed the most in the past few years likely had the Marvel intro ;)
Guardians of the Galaxy was just awesome! (IMHO the best so far)
but frankly.. while I enjoyed Marvel movies A LOT;
I'm unlikely to watch a rerun on tv... I have to be "in the mood"

inbetween: BBC's SHERLOCK
(only three episodes a year max... on hold [maybe even cancelled])
Now TV series...

if it has been cancelled .. chances are I liked it ;)

'Crime' -ish
Les Petits Meurtres d’Agatha Christie (awesome french series... love the style.. known stories alright, but what can you do)
Bones
The Blacklist

SciFi and weirdness
Dr Who.. what can I say.. I'm one of those guys ;)
Supernatural
the X-Files (the reboot not so much I must say)
and Fringe.. oh I loooooved John Noble playing the (literal) mad scientist.

And frankly I plan my coffee break so that I can watch
Phineas and Ferb on TV
and or Milo Murphy’s Law..
yes, I watch cartoons/anime like a 7 yo :D
some great stuff out there.
All time favourite: Captain Future!

Several dozen tv series I missed to list (Scrubs, Leverage or oddities like Sanctuary even)
and likely as many movies I liked (Hanna, Paper Towns...) and would enjoy watching reruns of

[EDIT]
war related stuff just annoys me
(oh wait.. EXCEPT for M.A.S.H and maybe Hogan's Heroes ;) *giggle*)
Anywho.. entertainment is what I'm after when I switch on the TV or go to the movies...
sometimes distraction (I could watch Bob Ross having big tree friends for hours!)
And I'm not entertained by drama ;)

Best german TV Series: "Der Tatortreiniger" too bad you can't watch it (there's no dubbed version around afaik)

'sid

MERGED ;)

Oooh...Dr. Who and the X-Files? I feel like I should be evil rubbing my hands like a madman.

Don't get me wrong, I could fill 3 pages of epic stuff right now, (and that's just movies)...but those were some GOOD telebizion shows!!!

For years, I would only go to one movie a year at the theater. Invariably, they would be the box office smash and maybe Best Picture.

I can't remember them all, but: Jaws, Forest Gump, and Platoon come to mind.

BTW: This was right after they came out, so...no clues given ahead of time.

Oh...and Batman, Tombstone,of course Titanic (No brainer), E.T., Slingblade, Saving Private Ryan, and
...cant remember the title....Kathy Bates kidnaps and hobbled James Caan....misery???

Soooo...these days, honestly, there's just too many good movies to pick just one. Here are my under the radar sleepers; 'I feel Pretty ' and 'Black Panther. ' 12 Strong. Annahilation.

Now....on to the obvious: Laura Croft,Tombraider. Don't think it'll make #1. Death Wish: no brainer, (still don't think #1) Ready Player One.....ummm...get ready to Get played, it's gonna be an OK movie...( in a transformer kinda way), but I feel a lot of folks are going to be let down .

Possible #1: The Commuter.

Trust me, I watch the crap out of Saving Private Ryan. Some days I have watched it several times over.

Valkeryie is another great movie that I can watch over and over.

Full Metal Jacket (rip Gunny)

I've had some time to figure out favorite TV shows

The Red Green Show
Rick and Morty
Avatar the last Airbender (M. Night Shaymalan really messed up the movie)
Full Metal Alchemist (hard to see in its entirety, they kind if stopped showing it on tv)
Criminal Minds
Law and Order SVU
The 1980s Transformers TV show (the movie is good too)
American Pickers
King of the Hill

I'm kind of diverse on what I watch and that isn't even half of what I watch and enjoy.
