The carb on my gx340 has some kind of electrical crap on it, I don't know what is is, and I am curious. Can somebody explain that that is hanging off the bottom of it?
its a fuel shutoff solonoid, when a power source is on-it will open to let fuel in. They are on all kinds of chinese generators, engines and some hondas
And almost all john deers its a safety feature incase the spark cut off doesnt work. just get the bolt that goes to that bowl and get rid of the solinoid.

Any experts on these solenoids and how they work? I pulled the solenoid and welded the hole on the bottom of the small bolt shut. I assumed that the pin on the solenoid dropped down to allow fuel flow, and lifted to plug the fuel inlet, was I wrong?
