This took place two days ago about 10 minutes from my home. It really makes you think what are parents doing these days that their kids would do something like that?

That's the kind of crap that really ticks me off. Okay, you're a scuzzy lowlife that feels that in order to support his glue habit, must rip off women's purses. Get a life, whatever. But you cannot convince me that it was at all necessary to threaten a fetus' life in order to acquire said purse.

If you ask me, (go ahead- ask me!) That should carry an attempted murder charge...

And where was everyone else? Probably just walking by and ignoring it. Its not that s#%@ like this happens that's disheartening, you'll always have a few @ss holes around. Its that normal people either notice and are too gutless to do anything or don't care/don't notice that someone is being robed and beaten right in front of them.

That's very true. Too many people have adopted the "I don't want to get involved" attitude but, in this case, there probably wasn't anyone around as it's a bit secluded & not many people around at that time of day.

that is some serios pathetic low life scum to beat up a pregnent woman
and i agree with toystory its attepted murder or worse
if a couple for what even reason cant rase a good child but are not allowed an abbortion then kicking a pregnent woman is attempted murder for sure

as for the bystanders not helping

theres two sides to this

a school in Perth (our city)
has recently declared that bystanders are treated and punished as the bully is

on a different note iv heard quite a few story's of doctors healing people and getting shot down

many years ago a woman was drowning on a beach, lifeguards took her to safety but couldn't revive here
a bystander announced he was a doctor and asked to assist, of course the life guards allowed him to, for what ever reason the CPR required some removal of cloths but not total nudity
sure enough the doctor revived the woman and she was taken to hospital and released a few days that later

she then went to sue the doctor for sexual assult (or something along those lines) for removing her cloths and affectivly feeling her up in public
the doctor lost allot of money and his license to practic medecine

that ungrateful ***** should be thrown back into the sea
thats what pisses me off more than people who stand by and watch
its the stupid laws that are apparently black and white and the **** wits the can play the laws to there advantage

thats why people dont help
and im willing to bet thats why the nurses didnt help the lady
she wasnt the "legal respossablilty"
and lets face it that clinic gets nothing more thn a few bad days in the papers
if they had accepted the clearly unwell woman in and either she or the baby was harmed they would have had all kinds of hell raining down on them

for most buisnesses its a calcualted risk not a moral thing

in our farm insureance there is a set amount of money and a clause that states in the event a random person were to enter our farm and hurt them selves on a peice of our equipment the insurance company will support us in a law suit when said person sues us for losses
at what point did it not only become ok to walk onto other property but it is owners fault if u hurt yourself while stealing his stuff :mad2: <(that emotion dosent truely express how mad it makes me)

the world is run not by those how make the laws but by those who can twist them

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRR
now im all wound up and pissed off im gunna have to destroy somthing

me and my dad were talking about this yesterday. how people that break into other peoples houses and get hurt then sue and when.

i said put up some signs saying if you get hurt while performing criminal acts on my property we are not liable for damage done to you.

in other words if you hurts your self while stealing or breaking in its not my fault and you take full responsibility.

the law should state "if you get hurt while performing any criminal act you are not allowed to sue"

thats the point it shouldnt have to state that
i thought that was bloody common sense

we do have some signs at our front gate that was given to us by an ex builder
stuff like "authersized personel only"

and anoughter one stating to enter the area u must wear a hard hat, saftey glasses and steel capped boots

but they aint going to come in the front gate are they
we have loads of enterences around the farm and 27'000 arces is too much to kep an eye on

wow 27,000 acres. thats alot. just get some signs and post every like 20 acres or so. sure it will cost alot of money but it will save some in some lawsuits.

yea you would think it would be common sense but its not. that just shows what age we live in. if anything i do while committing a criminal act hurts me and its my fault i wouldnt sue. because its my fault. not the owners fault

its not a big issue for us as we are 120km from the nereest town

the people who walk onto our farm are usually booged on the beach and require a tow but that is very rare
but we need the insureance just in case
paticually for the not so bight people who walk onto the farm and stand in the middle of the road while im flying towrd them in the chaser bin
needless to say i didnt even try to stop and he didnt get any help for being thick

How is this for I don't want to get involved. I couldn't believe the story when I read it.

Thisngs really are getting bad

Two people in a span of a month were left to die at the niagara falls hospital because they were not in the right area. One was in a car and the driver had not way to get the person inside. They told him "sorry we cant help you. You have to call a ambulance". The ambulance took quite a while to get there and by the time it arrived the person had died.
The second incident was that they managed to bring the injured person into the lobby but no one would treat him/her (cant remember) because there was no appointment and told them that they had to go to emergency. I cant remember why but the guy couldn't be moved again and was left to lay there until a real doctor, not one of those who go to school and take the name, came by and went"screw it i'm helping this guy". That same hospital is now being closed. I wonder why?

In the US we have a thing called the Good Samaritan law. It protects bystanders who help people from being sued. (obviously under certain cercumstances).

My friend told me a story about a robber broke into a home and was going to rob it. He tripped down the stairs and hurt himself. He then sued the homeowners and won. Something about the railing being too low or something.

Sheesh!

That's stupid

They have changed the laws here to put cement the definition of consent
When I did my senior first aid course
They stated it as
When meet a person in trouble in public u must ask if they require assistance before u can assist

If they enter into a medical institute ( first aid post, hospital) then they imply consent

If the person is unconscious or are unable to comunicate then they also imply consent

I believe the Good Samaritan laws are state, and not national law. Whether or not every state has one, I don't know.

You can sue one for literally anything. LITERALLY anything. The verdict is entirely up to the jury (or judge, in smaller cases). If the plaintiff sues over something incredibly stupid and loses, he/she gets to pay all the court costs and risks being counter-sued.

This is one thing I find really stupid about the American legal system. You should not be able to sue people like you can over there. If you slip in a shop cos the floor is a bit wet....well, you should have been looking where you were going. If you burn your lips on a cup of coffee you bought, you shouldn't be able to sue for burned lips. I mean...hello....you just bought a hot beverage. If you are stupid enough to burn yourself,well......

Legal freedom is taken a bit too far in this regard

The problem is, where do you draw the line? It's all subjective. What's stupid to one group of people, may not be to another group.

The McDonald's coffee incident is a good example. It seems like a really stupid thing, but it makes more sense when you look into it. The coffee was WAY to hot and the manager had received multiple complaints about the excessive temperature, yet did nothing to remedy the situation. The plaintiff got a cup of coffee, spilled it ijn her lap, and received second and third degree burns. I'd be suing too.
