Honestly don't bother, those china heaps of junk are not worth the effort. My kids had one when they were four/five yrs old. Rode it a couple months then parked. Its still in the shed gathering dust, but this fourth of july its going in the fire pit tires/plastic and all..... i just have to worry about the lead paint fumes burning off.....
its not worth the weight in scrap to keep.
Do yourself a favor and ditch that thing.
just being honest, but good luck anyway.

Fantastic, just burn it all and pollute like a madman! Why not give it away to someone?

As far as the smallest available, I've had a few briggs 2hp engines, and they are tiny, and the 79cc clones are a bit smaller than the average 212cc clones, there are a few options, but a bonfire I see as a poor choice.

Its just not heavy enough to use as a boat/dock anchor.
"actually" if that wooden gokart guy lived closer id just give it to him- honestly id probably pay him to take it....

hmm, thats not a bad idea maybe something like karosene (slow burnng) or fill the tank with hand sanitizer, lots of that around lately..

didnt mean to mess up this guys thread, its just that my sons graduating high school today and all he gets is a quick wave from teachers and a drive by at the school.
there can be legal protesters in groups of 1000's about that bad cop but u cant have normal graduations.... im just moody/ sorry guys

Fill the tank with tanerite and back up 150 yards or so and shoot the tank with a large caliber rifle, better than letting the toxic smoke from a bonfire add to our global issues at the moment, and you get to shoot something. Heck of a boom from a couple pounds of that stuff too.

For the most part.. the effort to convert to a 4 stroke isnt really worth the effort...

The rear end need to be converted to accept a common chain size, so Axle, tires, sprockets, hubs for tires/sprockets ect....
Then the engine needs to be fitted, in a really tiny space.....

The best bet get a new engine... If thats more than the entire thing.... maybe tannerite...

Im building a tao tao 110 frame that was chopped up. But i suggest using a briggs with a slide carb for simplicity, i am using either a briggs with an awesome straight pipe and slide carb or a 212 predator if i can find one

Why not run the 50cc 2 stroke? They're quicker than you'd think, easy to work on and easy to upgrade/add big bore kit.... just my 2 cents.

Before I sold out and retired, I used to amuse myself by pulling the keys out of miserable worthless machines, switch some wires around, park them beside the road and let somebody steal them.

It was like letting somebody steal a bad case of diarrhea. cured them of stealing, I imagine...Joe

They are indeed! Most parts are interchangeable between different brands and easy to get. Just make sure you premix the fuel (32:1 - 50:1), don't overheat the clutch and keep the air filter clean. I've had good luck with those little motors for what they are.

I had never taken a look at those engines before. The only aftermarket tiny ones that used to be around were the Orson and Rice little miserable 2 cubic inch monsters that usually only spent a limited amount of time between the factory and the trash can. They were sometimes given to professional loggers in chainsaw form as a practical joke.

Glad to hear somebody has made available something better but still cheap. How much does the transmission reduce the speed, or rather, what is the normal top speed at the final sprocket, and can I assume that the clutch is speed controlled and that the engine will idle slow enough to disengage it?

Ol'Joe: they're essentially copies of backpack leaf blower motors. The clutch is a centrifugal clutch and needs on/off throttle input or you'll overheat it and burn it up/break the springs, most have a 3 shoe clutch but there is a 2 shoe also - both are very similar to chainsaw clutches. These little motors LOVE to rev (as does any 2 stroke) and from what I've heard a proper expansion chamber makes a huge difference. My pocket dirtbike could haul my 155lbs fairly easily and probably got up to 15mph but it felt like 150! Lol. There are two "drivetrain" options : 1) the CC with a tiny sprocket and a large(r) rear sprocket and 2) a chain driven, bolt on reduction box. Dirtbikes/quads seem to have the gear reduction and the crotch rockets do not.
