I think I'm ready for him. It overruns the clutch when I first get after it now, and picks the front wheel up with me all the way at the front of the seat and leaning forward when the clutch does lock up. I'll go mybe two more seconds before it outdoes the fuel system and bogs. Sounds like a top fuel minibike race tune up to me

It looks uphill a bit. :cornut:

Maybe a manual clutch might make it more on even terms?

Yeah, I got holeshotted pretty bad. He didn't pull on me once the clutch was in so it would've been better from a roll. Regardless, my minibike got outran by a 700 raptor. I'm not messed up about that so I paid up and went about my day, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't thinking up ways to make it faster. Maybe run the can, lid, and the label (100% nitro for anyone not familiar with the terminology) and feed it a bunch of timing.

The place where I work has a rental equipment division, and I was goofing off over there on my lunch break when I noticed a GX160 sitting on a bucket. I asked about it and was told it needed rings. I asked how much, and they just gave it to me (thank you Worley's tire and rental) I have a GX200 crank, and stock 160 piston replacement kit already. Stroker build anyone?

I'm next door, so it wouldn't be any problem to check. Honestly I was thrilled to get this. Talking to my neighbor right now discussing the probability of a blown fuel GX160 surviving for any length of time. We still have a smog pump and a 38mm lectron at our disposal so it may get silly. I found some fairly local minibike drags held during car shows, so I'm going to turn up the wick.

Before Blown with the smog pump, Did you ever think of stealing
Forced air out of the tins from the cooling fan?
Just a thought?

I've looked into flywheel superchargers on cars, but I hadn't really thought about it on a small engine. I've heard that some volvo's had a miniature roots blower for a smog pump so I'm going to look into that. We have a couple of chevy smog pumps on hand that look like they may work if we can figure out the intake side of things. I really think it would be cool to have a blown fuel minibike.

Ok, so there have been some choices made this afternoon about the GX. I'm doing this on my IPhone, so I have to post one pic at a time, so please forgive the huge post I'm about to make, but I want to bring you guys up to speed.

Tore the new GX down and everything looked pretty good ( like it mattered, every piece of the rotating assy is being replaced) but found that this one has a flat top, SCORE!!!!

Then me and my neighbor Kelly mocked up the new rotating assy, and guess what? The factory flat top, and rod, when mated to the GX200 crank, produces a -.007 deck height, which is going to increase my compression significantly.

It looks like I can build a short manifold to connect the pump to the intake, and I plan on extending the starter cup to mount a pulley to drive the pump.
