Well, it put my back in the dirt again. 40% is pretty cool, but it's officially out of needle and seat. Just about the time it winds out real good it starts sputtering and running out if fuel. Oh well, looks like a mikuni is in my future, this will work well enough to let the guys ride it tomorrow night. Stay tuned for video. It is a straight up wheelie monster at this point, I keep two fingers on the back brake at all times when I ride it now.

Vice grips on the line, will kill the fuel. Especially needed for transportation, not so much sitting in the garage.

That sounds like a good way to haul it to the mud put tomorrow night, thanks.

If you use a Mikuni check the float needle seat size, the ones that are used for fuel pump delivery are 1.5 mm, the float needle seat for gravity fed delivery are 2.5 mm and some are larger in case you did not know that already.

Well, they were all scared of the minibike. It stood up on the back wheel with a couple if them, and everyone pretty much left it alone. Kind of disappointed, but kind of stoked at the same time that it's fast enough to intimidate people. Only got
One video of one guy riding it, and once again, the language he used to describe it prevents me from posting it here. It's on my youtube along with several other videos from last nights shenanigans.

I've decided to give my doodlebug a cosmetic upgrade. I'm going to paint it flat black with a punisher skull on the back fender to match my race car. I think I'm going to have the seat re covered in black velour diamond tuck. I was rummaging around in my toolbox today and found these letters from the doors of a 2500HD chevy truck and a silverado badge, both leftover from a truck I rebuilt from a total. I'm not real sure about the whole Doodle H.O. Thing, and I'm looking for opinions. What do you guys think about putting this on the front fender since it's the only place on the bike with enough real estate to pull it off?

Not sure, I'm in the middle of remodeling my house at the moment and need a carb before I can go over 40%. I may be going camping this weekend with a good friend and wild man who I know will ride it, if any nitro bugging happens I'll try to get video. Ever since I put it on 40% I keep crashing it myself. Lots of loopouts, but generally no one there to video them.

I just found some 20% and 30% RC Fuel for $30 a gallon.
Did you run this straight or mix it?
Nitro-methane should be mixed with methanol, not unleaded right?
Did you rejet the carb to run on methanol? If so what size jets?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm just interested.

Then read the thread, IIRC this was covered.
Spark plug readings and all even advice from Desertduler himself.

Sorry bob Its just fun to be Poboy once in a while!

I hate you! Lol
I read it twice so my question was nice, but I guess I missed it. I found it now.
Sometimes I read when very tired.

Going to a big mud bog party this weekend at a 1000acre mud park and I'm taking the minibike. Maybe I'll find some drunks to ride it there. Video if I do.

Sorry I didn't see this earlier. I started on 15% r/c fuel. I mix it straight at 40% now with methanol. Nitro won't mix with petroleum based fuels in any capacity. I drilled out my stock jets and restricted the air bleeds (completely plugged now) to make it draw enough fuel. I also dropped to the coldest plug I could buy for it as I was getting detonation with the stock one. The timing is just an advanced key, I don't remember how much it was, but it's specified early in the thread. The jets are as big as I can make them now, and the needle and seat is at it's flow limit. So I have to change carbs before I can go any farther %wise. At 30% I'd probably just go big with the pilot and main and plug the air bleeds to start, you can always lean it back out by allowing air through the bleeds. Also, it will straight MOW through fuel at 30%, it's ridiculous how much mine uses. My turbocharged SBC gets better mileage than my minibike, but the minibike is more fun.

After 60 beers and 4 gallons of fuel, I managed to get two pretty good videos. Where I went was a madhouse, so I only got one guy going, and one guy coming back. They were both very impressed with how it ran.

The guy in the Evel Knievel helmet took it out on the road and got after it pretty good. He rides dirt bikes and wouldn't wring the minibike out. He was shaking his head and saying "I had throttle left" big jake is an honest 400lbs too. Fun guys.

I've got to quote some women I know...."Wow! That was quick! "

(I mean the videos! ) :lolgoku:

Yeah, too many people around to try to walk up to the road to film them there. Still, it was funny as heck to me. The minibike was a hit there BTW, got lots of thumbs ups, woohoo's, and lot's of people told me that was cool. I just had fun ripping around on it all weekend.

I could use about 60 beers right now.

It took me three days to drink that many. I'm slipping in my old age.
