Hi
I have just bought a GS 750 4 cyl roadbike engine.
was so cheap just couldn't help myself lol
Now the question is what do i make from it?
You might of seen my other offroad style kart

Option 1:
give the offroad kart an upgrade?

Option 2:
Make an overpowered shifter kart by buying a rolling chassis extending. strengthening and putting the 750 on it.

I think option 2 would work better as 750 engine is air cooled
and my offroad kart is setup with water cooling and goes really well anyway

What do you guys think?

A 750cc air cooled engine? That seems like poor judgement on Suzuki's part. I would vouch for the shifter kart since it is air cooled. Off road punishment usually overheats engines anyway.

I think I'm going to go the way of a shifter kart just due to the time factor. only have a month or two before I leave to go to university.
but a 750cc shifter kart should be fun :D

That frame is in poor shape and rusted out. Not to mention it's designed to handle 110, maybe 150cc's of engine. 750 will rip it apart with out adding a lot to it. Go check out Edge buggies. That's more up your 750cc alley.

All the Japanese manufactures produced big air cooled inline fours, some as big as 1000 cc (maybe more)

Benjo: I'm from Opunake, Taranaki New Zealand.
Not sure i can get the frame anymore as auction finished and it hasnt been relisted and no way to contact seller.

Redsox: I would add alot of strengthening to it. am doing this project with some friends and we have access to a full machine shop for free so can do most things :D

It's more of a time issue to be honest. other two friends that are helping have jobs so not sure how much time we will get to work on this.
And had alot of problems with one im just finishing making so thought it would be easier to just buy a frame already made

Have found another frame
has disk brakes all round
independent front and rear suspension
only thing wrong with it is forward reverse gearbox doesnt work
but motor works fine (will pull out and sell)

So might look into this one as need to get this project started
heres some pics of it

Obviously a few modifications that would need to go
like the tray on top and the little deck at the back

suzukis like the old gsxrs are oil cooled arn't they? iduno
edit:
The SACS system uses high volumes of engine oil aimed at strategic points of the engine, like the top of the combustion chamber, which are not typically well served by air cooling alone. In order to provide enough oil for both cooling and lubrication, the system uses a double-chamber oil pump, using the high-pressure side for lubrication of the parts (crankshaft, connecting rods, valvetrain), while the low-pressure, high-volume side provides oil to the cooling and filtering circuit. The oil removes heat from hot engine parts through direct contact, is pumped away and subsequently routed through the oil filter, followed by routing through an oil cooler before being returned to the main sump

edit: they use the gsx 1100 engine in these so overheating might not be that big a deal:

this is what you shoul do:

Now THAT is really cool!!! If I were you, I'd get that one and go from there. The only thing I would be concerned about is cooling with a free-air bike engine, so- Grab an electric cooling fan from a car in the wrecking yard, and install it- do some tinwork to create a duct/shroud affair to direct the air thru the engine's cooling fins.

yes definitely going to grab this if i can talk it down to nice price
will add some scoops and probably a fan to give engine plenty of air
also do you think the forward reverse gearbox it has if fixed could handle the power from the 750?
would be niec to have reverse aswell
