Ive run across a major problem. Being a kid I dont really have a supportive job so I dont want to mess up on this. I've had a few opprotunities to by a racing go kart chassis for about $50, I also jusst purchased some plans for a offroad kart off ebay. I cant decide which I should build first:confused:. I live in the city but I have alot of family in the country so getting somewhere to drive either isnt a problem. Bottom line is Which should I build/get firsT?

I'd say your best bet would be to check your local listings on go-karts in your area. If you're lucky, you could find a running rust-rocket for $150-$200 bucks. Maybe even less if you're really lucky! Make sure you keep some extra cash on the side should you need some extra hardware, or some rattle-can paint.

I've checked everywhere and I just can't find the perfect frame/roller yet. I'm pretty picky about what I'm looking for and I have most of the parts if I where to build the offroad kart. I'm still open to opinions...

What kind of Kart are you looking to buy then? A yard Kart? Something to ride trails with? Suspension? No suspension?

If I buy anything it would be a street kart. It's more practical because I live on the back streets so I can ride anywhere. The whole reason I can't decide is because I would like to build a kart with my dad for fun not just buy one.

Ohh I see, well the reason why I propose buying a running street-kart is because you have everything you need to make it run. You can always build a new chassis, and use the parts from the other kart, knowing you have everything you need to get it running

The final decision is always up to you though. It's more costly to build your own kart or less expensive depending on how many things you have prior to starting your build (Metal Tubing, Engine, Clutch, Spindles, Axle, Tires, etc).
