IF you go with a cent clutch I would suggest an 8 tooth clutch to give you a better gear ratio for those hills, BUT a tc would do so ooooooooooooo much better.
Usually though we would suggest a 10 tooth cent clutch to give you a 6:1 ratio, but for low torque applications like grassy hilly areas I would think a 7.5:1 would be better.
A tc allows for better torque when going offroad, and better gear ratios. Instead of having a fixed gear ratio (8 tooth clutch 60 tooth sprocket for a gear ratio of 7.5:1) the torque converter gives you a broad range of gear ratios in real time while driving. The driver and driven of the tc changes in ratios in real time while driving, giving you both good low end torque and good top end speed.
I hope I explained that relatively clearly for you.
Basically though YES it is completely worth the $100+- and then some, especially for off road conditions.
Search ebay for 30 series torque converter, but you'll need to know the axle sprocket pitch (I believe it's pitch), same as with a cent clutch.
