what should i use (engine/clutch/tires)

i am thinking about an off road go kart. it is very bumpy and hilly here. i am not sure what size tires, clutch, motor, torch converter that i should use.

i weigh 140 pounds and plan to have a roll cage, i do not want the kart to be to big tho.

my budget is very limited.

If you're going to go with such a small engine, keep tire size minimal (say 13x5-6 max), keep size and weight to a minimum, and gear low.

If your budget was better (maybe wait and save your $) I'd suggest 11-13hp, a Comet40 CVT, and 18" turfs.

I have a 6.5, comet 40 and 19" tyres, with a 6:1. Hauls on the flat, not so much on the hills.

i looked at the site, and there are like 20 clutches. if i got this engine

would you mind linking a clutch and how i should hook it up, like sprocket size, do i do a direct hook up? or torch converter?

[Doc Sprocket]

A CVT (torque converter) is a complete clutching and power transmission system. If you get one, do NOT get a centrifugal clutch. Not only is it NOT needed, it won't work. A CVT like the Comet 40 requires you to buy or build a jackshaft to mount the driven on, and then you would put a drive sprocket on that same shaft and run a chain from there to your axle sprocket.

I agree. Some might think my big fat kart with a 5hp motor on it is slow, but I certainly don't. II get 30mph. It's got a 6:1 ratio with 15" tires and that leaves enough torque to go up any hill, bump or rut around here. I would save the money. Of course, I just might be captain slow...
