I'm actually looking into this for my Camry (tapered bore), but for a few more projects as well.
I've been donig a bit of research, and so far, the only results I can find are the jig borers, boring bars, and mills.
Mills are supposedly accurate DEPENDING moreover on the machinist himself, whilst some of the others have self centering devices...
Since I get shop access next year, I get a chance to play with a mill. They're most DEFINITELY no top of the line, and are at least a decade old (and a few are a couple decades
)
Soes, mai question rests: Anyone have any machining experience with boring out blocks? It's a cast iron block BTW.
Anyone have any experience with the Kwik-Way/Van Norman stuffles?
