Picked up this Kart yesterday for 50 bucks. I want to build a chainsaw go kart and was going to build my own frame but I found this one and decides I couldnt buy the spindles and axles etc for less than 50 bucks....the two engine mounts one on each side kind of gives me the impression that it is a vintage race kart

oh no... what a poor little kart...

I know the small tabs on the sides of the seat from somewhere :(

I have the strangest feeling it was an early Rupp kart...
Which has been treated really bad (and thus removed most of the value of early Rupps)

But the turbine wheels (Rupp!) are still worth a fortune :D

[EDIT]
Yes.. the Taps on the seat look very Rupp too..
wheels, tabs near the seat, the seat and the steering hoop say Rupp to me.
the rest was unfortunately modified in some way..
please check that the original axle mounts are still there ;
if it may be worth restoring..

It does look like a goobered up wide hoop Rupp, but like Sid said if it's got 4 Turbine wheels that the fins aren't broken on, the outers are in decent shape and the inner rears haven't been hammered all to ****....you got $400 staring you in the face right there. I can't see the steering wheel very well on my tiny screened dumbphone but if it should be original there's another $100 right there. Post some pictures of the rear axle bearing hanger area and the area of the frame where the seat hoop attaches. It may not be that hard to restore with a call to Robert Stanton if it is a Rupp. You need it, he'll have it or can make it.

Good find! Looks like it's seen some better days.

Pardon me for intruding, but are you doing anything with that engine? In particular, the pull starter/recoil on it? The reason I ask is because I'm searching for that exact one. PM me if you'd be willing to part with it... and it's functional.

Otherwise, no problem. Nice find man, and welcome.

Heres more pics. It has 3 different colors of paint. Silver red and green. Fins on those rims are perfect if they are worth anything ill make someone a deal on them cause they dint mean anything to me.

Heres pics of the rims that are for sale. Might just part this kart out. Not really happy with it. Couple good usable parts on it
