What is this pull start piece?

This piece is broken from a pull start. It's what catches the engine and makes it turn. It's an inch long, metal and is L shaped. It rotates out when you pull on the pull staert then goes back in when you relase. I need to know the name of the piece. Bounus points if you can tell me where to get one. Thanks!

Good luck getting one...but is possible.
Might be better off getting a new (or used) recoil assembly.
Recoil should outlast engine.

Sounds like a recoil pawl.
Search "'your engine' recoil pawl", or "'your engine' recoil repair"

unless its chinese. then its a race to see which part breaks first lol

you can buy this part from any place that services small engines. lawn mower shop etc. or online.

I've bought new dogs for briggs and tecumseh starters.

If you have a chinese gx clone engine, the whole starter asembly you can buy for not much $
