This part on my go kart is damaged and I don't know what it's called to find a replacement. I've heard a-arm, but every a-arm I search for is U shaped and wouldn't fit the space. Help please! I need it for the right side (zoomed in pic is of the left though)

Thats a bristers mean machine scorpion.

I see where the one arm is broke.
Your best bet would be to remove both arms and take to a welding/machine shop so they can weld it. Perhaps a sleeve or a plug added for strength.
Not a difficult repair.
Take the good one so they can match it.

Most all kart manufacturers are defunct now and original parts might be unobtainium.

Most all domestic fun kart manufacturers are defunct now and original parts might be unobtainium. FIFY.

I think the proper term is control arm (or suspension arm)...?

Chinese made karts have flooded the market after the domestic fun kart market was sued out of existence. You never know, a part from a China kart could be retrofitted to fit.

In any event, a good fabricator could make up a whole new control arm from new steel or just repair the one you have like WTR said. That’s the beauty of these old fun karts.
