What is the best Torqe Converter/ CVT for 6.5hp Engines?

I see on comets website that the have all these different series and Asymmetrical and Symmetrical and what not. What does all this mean? and what would you reccomend for 6.5hp engine? also, do these need to be used in combination with a jack shaft? how do you determine what size sprocket to use when using a cvt as compared to a clutch?

A tav 30 (3/4") would suite your needs, it comes with a jack shaft built in.

what size wheel hub sprocket would you use when using a tav?
also what asyymmetrical vs symmetrical?

For an axle sprocket, you would use whatever hub fits your sprocket's bolt pattern. For teeth on the sprocket, it depends upon where you'll be taking the kart and what kind of low/top end you want. Symmetrical vs. asymmetrical is just the type of belt the TC uses. A 20 and 40 series uses a symmetrical belt, a 30 series uses an asymmetrical belt. This is the cut of the belt. A symmetrical belt is V-shaped and an asymmetrical belt looks like |_/.

I've noticed a lot fewer problems reported with 40-series compared to guys running Tav/30-series. You'd just need to order one made for an engine with a 3/4" output shaft.

He may not have appropriate horsepower to engage the clutches correctly.

I have a 40 series on my 6.5 clone cos it was all I could find at the time. Works a treat.
