NITRO!

More seriously though, that a joke and not really something that'll be a mod. What are you trying to do with your kart, what gearing do you have currently, where do you ride it, and what speed to you achieve right now?

The nitro thing might be kinda cool in a car that you've done some work to but it might not be that awesome in a small engine that close to your physical body.

I have a 6.5hp Greyhound

The gearing is 10t clutch sprocket and 60t rear sprocket with 16" rear tires.

I ride it around my neighborhood and sometimes in the dirt/trails
Just trying to get some good speeds/ power

Basically im just trying to have a quick/powerful kart :)

Post a pic of your straight pipe... it may be hurting your power. Also you need an air filter adapter and high flow filter. Then drill your jet to .036. That whole setup is around $30 or so and it will breathe better than your stock airbox.

O but here is a picture of my straight pipe. I might make a better one with a fatter barrel so i can get more power from it.

Its not the size but the length. That is going to hurt your power band somewhat. Technically it will put out the same power but in a different curve. Sounds like in an offroad kart like you have you want torque and some low end power. For such a thing you will want a long skinny pipe in the 16-20" range. Look for a pic of the clone RLV header and make something similar with a curved shape. Come to think of it.. check out affordablegokarts doodle bug header made for their minibikes. It might just come straight out the back of your kart and be pretty neat.

Yeah i am thinking about making the pipe longer and alittle fatter. So basically i just need to make the pipe longer? And i will notice more gains?
This is what i am going to use for the pipe i am making for it..

I am going to cut the pipe where the red is. And where the blue line is i am going to weld that part onto the manifold so i can use the pipe on the kart.

Do you think that would be good?

A longer, narrower pipe will give you better low end power, which makes it better for off roading. Not necessarily more power but more power where you need it.

Thanks

Alright, Could the pipe be straight though? Because i think i have a 10in cast iron pipe i can cut and use for a muffler.

I guess if you had to make it straight yes... but longer than 10".. thats about what you have now. On one of my minibikes i welded a pipe similar to the link i sent you and welded a threaded plumbing fitting on the end so i could screw in one of the $5 Briggs pipe mufflers. Didn't lose any power and it flows much nicer.
