This came with the Carter Bros. #1215 I just picked up. I would like to know if it's worth saving. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

If this is a Honda clone, would you stick with the huayi carb or replace it with something else? What's the best replacement?

Amazon has gx200 carbs right around $20, my question is does it turn over? Lots of rust on the outside leads me to believe there is possibly rust inside too.

It could actually be a genuine Honda, look on the block under the gas tank on the clutch side and also behind the starter to see of theres any info there. Also see what the name on the carb is just for fun please. Even the muffler to me looks more like Honda than clone AND it has the heat shield on the underside of the head too . If it is a Honda, in my opinion it's worth rebuilding. I got a gx160 (seized) for free, i tore it down, cleaned it up, got it running and now plan to spend up to a couple hundred bucks to properly rebuild it (including new piston, machined deck and a oversize bore).

The carb is a huayi. The engine turns over and has spark but needs a ton of cleanup. If this was left outside for another month, it would have become part of his garden. I plan on eventually changing the carb and gas tank (chunky rust).... a lot!!! The last thing would be figuring out the starter wires. This is my first small engine with a starter. I'll check the spots you mentioned and thanks for all the help!!

I'm betting on a genuine honda, tank matches, muffler matches, what I can see of the air box matches, right color red, everything looks honda. Carb on my gx160 says Kei hin, so with that all said, add in the electric start and yes it would be worth reviving if it can be revived. Only difference I see between yours and mine is I've installed a red honda tank, but I can post a picture or two if youd like.

that's definitely a honda or honda clone, probably a GX200, I didn't know that they could come with an electric start that's kinda cool, try cleaning out the rust in the block with sandpaper or a drill attachment with it on it?
