Hey guys well my gokarts almost finished but Im realizing its going to pretty annoying ride places that isnt right by my house because it doesnt really fit in my car. So i decided I was going to built a gas scooter with something like a chainsaw engine on the back, but after looking on craigslist its seems I could get the scooter for about the same price as a good chainsaw motor and there wouldnt be the hastle of trying to make a good chain drive.

Could you guys tell me if this looks like a decent scooter because I have very little expirience with them.

Good ride ....... I almost got one of those. I'd say grab it.

Good thing about 'peds, the handlebars fold down so you can put them in the trunk easily. I'd check it over for leaks, and put a plastic tarp down in the trunk just in case.

Would you recomend grabbing that or getting a 50cc pocket bike motor and making my own board, I guess the real question is would that be a higher quality engine?

Ok guys Ive been looking and cant find anything that looks like this, unfortunetly Ive only been able to talk to the guy cause its about an hour away so Im only going to go down if Im ready to buy.
He says its belt drive, do they make goped that are belt driven without clutches? If it has a clutch Ill get this, if it doesnt Im going to get the pocket bike engine.

Why do you need a clutch? You just push off and it starts instantly, then when you stop the engine stops. As easy as with a clutch IMO (on a scooter. On a kart or minibike it's a different story)

Id like a clutch incase I take it off the goped and use it on something else I think.

Probably would be better, money wise, to sell the whole thing and start from scratch for the 'something else'. A minibike or kart needs a bigger engine than that.

Ok well I havent bought it yet and I dont think Im going to the whole scooter and engine seems to need a lot more work that Id be willing to put into something I probably wouldnt ride.

How would a twin 50cc mini kart based of the goped trail ripper quad sound? :D

Would 2 engines be necessary I weigh 150 (sorry for all indecision and the noobie questions guys)

I know the trail ripper is only 45.7 but I'm sure they squeeze much more power out of that than a simple pocket bike motor.
