Well kart values vary greatly by location. ...and since you didn't bother to fill out your profile so we know where you are. ..... I'd say we're both in the dark. ....buy it.......or don't. ......

go and get it NOW.. before he changes his mind..

I'd say it's a Rupp.. and that means this kart in this condition is easily worth 500++ ANYWHERE in the world.

just offer him $20.0 Its an OLD OLD kart, but who cares about old when it needs so much work? Has aluminum rims, which are notorious for chipping and breaking. If it was a complete running kart with a padded seat, then $200 would be fair.

right now it needs a

$100 engine
$15 brakes
at least tubes to go in the split rims which are $15x4 so $60
$10 chain
$60 seat
$20 rear bearings X2 so $40
$3 front bearings x 4 so $12
and a ton of time to do it all, not to mention paint.... Its not a question of IF there's rim or frame damage/pitting/rust but how bad and where is it?
Is the axle straight?
what about spindle brackets?
what about spindles?

So you tell that guy you will give him $20, and be prepared to go up to $30 or $40 max, otherwise you will be putting a ton of money into this thing. Enough said. Maybe you can even offer to pick it up from him for free so he wont have to throw it away.

I just had to edit this because itsid posted. My opinion is how USEFUL is this going to be, not as a showpiece/collectors item.

I was thinking it was a rupp but was kind of looking for some conformation. I will def be going to look at it better and will proly low ball him cuz it needs so much but if he knows wat he's got I'll give him the 200. Thanks and I did update my profile and location. Again thanks for the replies.

Rupp D300 "fun kart".
Same as an A Bone but with a welded motor mount for a 4 stroke and different pedals.
It looks like the original Turbine wheels have been replaced with Manco wheels.
Ask the owner if he has the originals, they are an easy $75-$100 each depending on condition. Good Manco wheels bring $50 a pop
all day long on evil bay.
Steering wheel looks to have been replaced but that's no biggie.
To buy or have made a repro seat is gonna run about $200 minimum, you can probably "find something that works" for less.
If the wheels are good and the frame is straight, that's $200 of value right there so if you can get it for less it's a deal.
It also depends on what you want to do with it.
If you just want to fix it to fart around on it shouldn't be horribly expensive.
If you want to restore it "like it was" or convert it to an A Bone, it can get expensive quickly.
