Hello everyone. I am new to this site. Yesterday I saw this kart sitting in someones yard. After knocking on the door and $10 dollars later this is now in my yard.

What model is it? Or brand? What parts fit it?

I'm wanting to clean it up and replace everything on it to get it running again. The guy does have the other front wheel, i'll need to get it this week.

My plans are: New tires, new seat, new steering wheel and all linkages and I would really like to have electric start on this. Where do I start guys?

I talked to a guy who has a BS 5hp used motor that he says runs fine. He's asking 50 for it. Is that a good deal?

I'm not sure on the engine because I haven't seen it yet. Any idea on where to start ordering parts from?

WELCOME! GREAT BUY for $10!!! Have a look at the parts link page at the bottom of the forum page.... It has all the links you could need for any kart part and more.

Thanks Jim. What type of paint does everyone use? I use automotive paint on other projects but don't have powder coat access.

Sounds like I need to pick up that motor then. How bigger of a motor could this handle?

Are they reliable and any models come with electric start? When I take the axle apart, what is a good oil or grease to use and can the sprocket be changed?

I've only heard good things about them; every now & then a dud makes it's way out but, the faults are usually minor & are only returned because it's easier than fiddling with a new engine...

AFAIK, they don't have elec start but, being a Honda GX200 clone, there are variants that do have elec start...

Normal, everyday bearing grease will suffice, it's not like it'll be doing 80mph...

and can the sprocket be changed?

Of course it can; why do you want to change it?

The sprocket on it is old and looks rounded. I figure ill look for a sale on the hf 212 and then start reading about torque converters.
