I have this older 10HP Tecumseh that runs good, but leaks gas when it's off. It seems the pot metal casting is a little worn where the jet seats so there is no way to fix it.
I would like to put a slide carb with a choke on it. What size should I look for.
If I find one, I will be removing the governor since it will not be operable.

A carb with a Venturi 2 mm smaller than the diameter of the intake valve.

That engine still runs? You sure it's a tecumseh? XD

I have an old 10 hp tecumseh on our generator. We lost power for a couple hours last week so I pulled it out. Fresh gas, put some more oil in it, and it fired right up and ran great! Actually it really surprised me, I thought it was gonna be a pain.

Hold on, that's no tecumseh! That's a Briggs! No wonder it runs...

That looks strangely like a Briggs & Stratton engine (cue heavenly music) and not a Tecrapseh.

Kelly Wood might be interested in that carburetor if it's an updraft.

Nothing smaller than a 22mm and not bigger than a 34mm. Anything in between will work just fine.

Unless Tecumseh changed their logo or that Briggs cover fits a Tecumseh like a glove, that has to be a Briggs.
