ive taken the governor off my gx200. what hp we looking at now?

Probably the same as before, just higher rpm. I've read that they develop maximum power at about 2,800 rpm.

Torque drops off substantially after 2500 rpm. Removing gov does essentially, 'zero'.
Rpm goes up, period.
Hp gain isn't even worth mentioning.

If I remember correctly, a group of guys dynoed the GX200 after a few things, and it was making ALMOST 7HP without the governor.

It was on a old thread on 4cycle - it came with charts too.

but yeah, most [stock, general use] small engines have there peak hp around 3200 rpm. which makes sense as most are governed to 3200 rpm.
