Not fedex, but I thought I would share my experiences with courier companies.
1.yodel in the UK did not pick up my parcel, after a week of trying. I got upgrade in the end.
2. My mum ordered a parcel for my brothers girlfriend for her birthday in January. This was mid December, and she was going back home (3hrs away) on the 27th December.
This should have been plenty of time. However, firstly the parcel went to the wrong depot. Then it arrived in the right depot, and sat there for 5 days. We eventually rung up (20th ish of December.) they said we were meant to pick up from the depot, 2hr round trip. We refused and asked for a redelivery. By the 24th December and multiple attempts later, the tracking no. now told us the parcel was being returned to the sender because it was uncollected in the depot for 5 days. Who's f***ing fault is that? Finally we got the parcel after my brother and his gf ha gone home.
We had some friends who were travelling near to them luckily so we sent it up with them.
However, we were pissed off, so contacted amazon.co.uk, and they gave us a full £116 refund!!! My mum is giving me half for contacting amazon! WIN!
