What am I growing?

I started a garden and wanted to grow a few vegetables.

I bought all different kinds of seed packets sowed the seeds.
I bought a packet of gypsy broccoli but only 5 small seeds came in the packet.
2 of the seeds made it this far... it's been almost 2 months and the plants are about 5 inches tall but starting to grow some weird round things. It almost looks like a watermelon.
But they were not watermelon seeds.


I have tried searching the web but haven't had any luck. I was wondering if any of you had any knowledge or info.

I think your seeds Died. and you watered and tilled the soil where someone previously had a Nice BBQ and Pic Nick.

that totally looks like a watermelon, down to the yellow flowers and leafstructure.
the buds kinda look closer to a honeydew melon but that might just be me..

since there are well over thousand species of melon out there I cannot even try to identify it properly;
but let's say
botanically I'd be amazed if that's not some sort of Cucurbitaceae at least

Well I did transplant two watermelon plants ( approx 3" tall) about two rows over, but the plants died a few days later after transplanting.

Haven't tilled since started this fall/winter.

Maybe whoever put the seeds in the packet labeled it wrong.

You are a smart guy. I do not remember what a Broccoli seed looks like,
but surely you would have recognized a watermelon seed.

Funny thing is the basil seeds I planted look exactly like the questionable broccoli plant.
These plants are growing in the exact spot I sowed the seeds.
They were definitely not watermelon seeds.
Weird... just weird.

Wow... something is definitely metastasizing. Found two other small " melon plants" 5 rows over. SMH - weird.

I pulled those. Can't wait to see what this mutant thing grows in to.
