West Bend 580

I'm interested in using a West Bend 580 engine but need to run it in a vertical position versus horizontal. Anyone know if this is possible? I'm sure the engine would run but the carb may have to be relocated with a custom intake in order to work. Do the carbs these engines use have a fuel bowl with a float?

These engines for the most part, use diaphragm carbs.
Any 2 cycle engine will run in any position.
Original kart engines were converted rotary (vertical shaft) lawnmower engines.
