I don't even know what a fixed or flip down lens mask costs, but you can get the HF auto mask for $40 with the weekly coupon. SOOOOO worth it. It's incredible.

I'm thinking about doing that. Because it's hard to learn with the handheld one.

Good to have some kind of backup, just in case. You may see it as a fixed shade, handheld POS, but if that cheapie HF auto takes a dive mid-project- well, lets just say you might re-evaluate your opinion.
