Weird, maybe pointless hoop on Streakers.

Does anyone have an idea on why this is on darn near every Streaker? IMG_6700.jpegI’m talking about the hoop at the back. I can’t think of a good reason to why it exists.

Push bar.. only thing I can think of. I have had to push my pops home in the streaker when we were first building it. if I wouldn’t of welded the bumper on crooked it would of set to high and I would of drove up onto the back of his kart not pushed.

probably for protection against in case of a rear impact from a car, i'm just gonna say though, that looks perfect for towing stuff

Those where probably sold to Karting tracks and where there to keep other karts from rolling on top of it.

I would maybe say you could pull stuff with it, but it’s not centered. It’s hard to tell from the photo.
Functional and Pearl both sound feasible. That hoop being offset makes me think engine protection.
I don’t think Ken-Bar ever sold to karting tracks, no front bumper. Also the theory from Streaker owners here is that they had a fairly high retail price new. Great ideas people!
