Yo.... Im Tim,
retired 24yr Navy Vet, the boss and me moved back to KY 2yr ago, brought along 6 kids and we bought a couple acres to relax on, breed some goats and grow some food...lol so now that we are rural last xmas bought the kids a few things to ride around and break. as for me..... i built myself a 30x35 shop out back where i cut, weld, and set stuff on fire...... i came here because of the jackshaft torqued out of alignment on the 196 I saw Duckman cycles on youtube do a 2 point pillow bearing and a longer shaft to stop the twisting due to the single weld point on this thing and wanted to see if there were any less extensive fixes holding strong. i bounced around through some other threads and i think i belong in this forum.....lol so theres me!
oh yea i made a small dirt track for them near the back of the prop, they love it when these things are working, as short lived as it always seems.

Welcome to DIY.
I would suggest that maybe you could start a thread (pictures included if possible) in the go-kart discussion, of
your current project.
Sounds like you have a great place to work on, and enjoy riding your karts.
