Just sit a box a beer next to the kart and vivid help yourself on it....

thieves don't stop to notice alarms and crap, they know what they're doing are well equipped, and are often in and out before you can get there.

Bolt an electric fence regulator up to the kart off a hidden 12 volt source, that would probably make them jump.

Concrete eye bolts into the ground, use stranded cable and a concealed hasp lock, bolt cutters won't cut through that, they'd need a torch.

Yeah- I dreamed up a slightly more evil version of that... But the last thing I need is to get sued because some teenage-punk, would-be kart-thieving dipstick has been left a smouldering grease-spot in the OP's back yard...

well id take alot of pictures of it so you can give the cops an idea of what theyre looking for. I like the camera ideas but that really seems like a hastle. Id just put 2 or 3 super beefy chains on it in different places. Hell heres an idea. Dig a pit the depth of the kart and lay a plank over it with grass on top. Plus an anchor in there to chain it to like a cement block buried a few feet under that with a beefy chain on it. They cant steal what they cant find lol

While on the pit idea, you could make a Vietnamese punji pit. I won't include details, but how accurate to the real thing you get, I'll leave that to you. I can guarantee it will stop any thieves.

A guy by me actually made his own electric fence to keep deeraway from his plants. It was thick dowel rods all around the plants. The then he took an extension cord, clipped off the female end, split the positive and negative inside and attached them to heavy solid wire. This wire was strung and help up by the dowels. At might he would plug in the extension cord and forget about it. It worked like magic. As a kart theif stopper, maybe not, but I like the idea of chains, motion lights, and a pup.

With a few bullet holes in it. It'll work. Or a thieves shot on sight sign.

Build a cage out of wooden stakes and cover it in chicken wire and hook it up to an agricultural electic fence unit. We have big units on our farm that push 6kv a few km of fence you dont want to touch them feels like you have been hit in the face with a shovel but wont kill you

It's a teaser like "Look at this kart, touch it, I dare you. Just try to get it out." I think it could work. Even just split an extension cord and attach the wires to the chicken wire and plug in your enclosure at night.

The concreted eye bolts in the ground and chains really do work without being sued for booby-trapping things.

:iagree: Dig a hole, a few feet deep, with a post hole digger and fill it with concrete. Insert an eye bolt in the concrete while wet and you have a way to lock up your rigs.

Concrete eye bolts into the ground, use stranded cable and a concealed hasp lock, bolt cutters won't cut through that, they'd need a torch.

use stainless...

you cant cant cut stainless steal with a torch.. (Well you can kina melt it away with great difficulty..)

so now they'de need a plasma cutter.. so portable air, and prolly 240 volts..

for like 20$ you can get motion activated alarms.. they can be easily mounted outta site, etc...

secure it with the cables near the dogs pen, put bells on it too even..

noise of them messing with it, seting off alarm etc should get teh dogs riled up even if you dont hear it, and if nothing else scare em off..

along with motion sensor lights.. those things do wonders..

as for the recording, i bet you alread have the camera set up a tthe nieghbours daughters.. haha.. jk jk jk

Back in the day when i lived with roomies, i had 175 yami bike..

id go to work and come back, bike would be outta gas, plastic cracked etc etc..

I t used to be an enduro type and had all the lights etc wich i removed and used as a dirt bike after puttinon a knobby..

i found this realy fine wire, wove it into the seat (Which I had stapled an old shirt over years before since the vinyle was shot)

I ran a wire to one side of a signal switch from the spark plug, and then to the wire in the seat...

you didnt want it running with the left turn blinker on.. lmao..

came home one day and found out real quick who dropped it real suddenly..

as for safety and boobie traps etc, well it was an old bike.. only a matter of time till something shorts out.. haha

All my machines are stuffed into the garage, but it doesnt lock, we have 2 motion sensor lights, and with the fence its hard to get out of our yard quick..

the other machine is in the box of my truck now since i dug it outta the snow bank.. back truck up to eagle (Parked in driveway) and its pretty much impossible to take.. not even enough room to lift it out unless they rolled it over the roof since the house is close on one side, and the nieghbours fence on the other.. :D

anyway, good luck!!

and do a search for locking/security cables.. theres some pretty good stuff out there for good prices.

take a chunk of sheet of stainless steel, draw a line on it, and then try to cut it with a torch..

and please take a video...

or even just find one of someone trying to cut it wth a torch on youtube..

i worked at a massive fabbricating shop, in the cutting bay when i was young..

there was prolly a good 40-60 journeyman and apretnic welders there..

i lived with one of em..

as a joke they got me to try and cut somethign out of stainless steel with the torch..

I promiss.. you cant cut stainless steel with a torch.. not realy... you can sorta melt it away if you go all crazy..

devino is right, you can cut it with a hacksaw.. but you can also get the stuff that "cant be cut" as they advertise..

i know anything can be gotten through with the right tools and time..

besides the point.. who the hell is gona carry a torch around in thier back pack.. ??

unless someones eyeing it up and planning to snatch it, most crimes are crimes of oppurtunity as someone mentioned..

but please.. show me how your special torch can cut through STAINLESS steel..

i realy wanna see this!!!
