Hey Guys I Have A Couple Questions!
So Here's The "story" . So Yesterday I Went Out To The Recycle Center (For Steel, Aluminum, Copper ETC) And I Looked Out In To The Yard And I Saw A Little Quad (Coolster ATV-3125b 125cc Electric Start) So I Went And Bought It! 40 US Dollars.

The Things Wrong With It:
It Has A Left Bent Spindle.
It Has a Useless Left Front Rim.
Needs a Key Switch.
Needs New Plastics.

Okay So Yesterday We Tried Starting It
1st Attempt= No Go
(Checked For Spark)There Was A Spark
2nd Attempt= No Go
(checked The Actual Spark Plug)It Was Working!

Then We Took Of The Carb And BOOM It Was Dirty And Sticky And dirty And More Sticky!

So We Went And Started Cleaning It

We Put it Back on And Put Some New Oil

3rd Attempt= Vrrrroooommmm!

So We Let It Idle For A While and It was Working fine But Then We Noticed Oil Leaking Checked Under And Turns Out The Owners Had Put Some Ordinary Silicone on the Middle Of The Left and right Crank Case! There Was A Crack

Ok So My First Question Is Can I Put Some JB Weld On The Outside Of The Crack?

I've Done it before to my dirt bike but I did it On the Inside.

My Second Question Is Where Can I Get a Spindle For This Quad With Out Getting 2 From The Website For 50 Bucks!!

Third Question Is What Do You Think? Did I Pay To Much?

From what I have heard, you should be able to use some JB weld. You could also weld it using the appropriate method for welding alluminium.

Can you bend the spindle back at all.

I think you got a deal paying only $40

Thanks for responding and I tried bending it back ti place but they don't line up (/ |)<< that's an idea if how it looks I will post picks soon, and do they sell the whole part? its the left part that holds 2 of those long screws for the cylinder head !?

I think posting pics would be the best way to go to give you the best advice

I say heat the spindle up and slide a deep socket over it and bend it as close as you can get it.. Get the oil to stop leaking and list it on Craigslist needing some minor work. Unless you have kids you want to teach to ride.. If its for your kids I'd invest in a new spindle

i herd or these chinese 4 wheelers bending spindles and people would heat them up and they just bend again so unless you won't to buy one online they only thing i could think you can do is find a atv junk yard or even ebay or something and buy the front a arms to a honda 4 wheeler like a 90cc it would probilly bolt right up to yours or would be easy to make bolt up

And thanks for the advice guys, im not sure I can bend the part that is bent back. I will post a pic when I get it off, my major concern is the engine and no, no kids LOL im 18 I'm Fixing it for my brothers because I have already fixed a gokart for them theyre really counting on me, im the brother I never Had

that's the size of how long it is the whole is pretty small though.

You can JB Weld that. Clean the he// out of it. Big time. Silicone is evil. Get all the sillycone cleaned off, then rough up the repair area with some sandpaper. Clean it to an immaculate state (like, so clean you wouldn't mind licking it), and wash down area with Methyl Hydrate (denatured alcohol). Apply the JB Weld with a popsicle stick or similar, overlapping the damage, but not exceeding the sanded area. For a stronger patch- cut/bend a patch out of aluminum or steel. Apply some JB to the repair area and press the patch on until the epoxy squeezes out around the perimeter of the patch and let cure. Now- Sand the patch and the excess epoxy. Re-clean immaculately, and apply another coat of epoxy over the entire patch, over the excess from the first coat, and further onto bare metal. Let cure completely, and you're good. In case I have not emphasized this enough- make sure the repair area is CLEAN- free from dirt, oil, grease, debris, dust, fingerprints, sillcone residue, fly poop, etc. Good luck.

Hopefully it will hold ! Didn't Clean it all that good but it falls off I will do it the right way next time with the proper tools! kind of rough area to fully clean
