i agree with russ its probrobly not from the compressor but from sitting in a shed where condensation can form on it every time the weather conditions are right. The only way your going to keep uncoated steel from rusting is inside in a temperature contolled area.

ok, but nothing else rusted so i just took it that it was the compressor, because i drained it and the water that came out.....was fairly rusted and there was a good lot of it.

it was probs a combinatioin of both as u wet the progect in one spot 2 months ago the rust started to form there then as u left it in a shed for 2 months the process u had started by wetting it continued
but it rusted faster in one spot as it had a head start
(sorry a bit long winded)

ok thanks for the reply, i will post pic in a while, its out, ready to race for the summer season, lol, changed gear ratio for more power.
